Athletes Unlimited Volleyball is a professional women’s volleyball league in the United States that launched in 2021 with an innovative competition format designed to empower athletes. Unlike traditional team-based leagues, Athletes Unlimited features a player-driven model in which teams are redrafted each week and athletes earn individual points based on both team success and personal performance. The player with the highest cumulative point total at the end of the season is crowned champion. Founded as part of the broader Athletes Unlimited organization, the league provides elite domestic and international players with a professional playing opportunity while emphasizing athlete leadership, revenue sharing, and decision-making influence. This unique structure has helped distinguish Athletes Unlimited Volleyball as a groundbreaking approach to professional sports and a key contributor to the growth of women’s volleyball in the United States.

Due to the success and growth of the two pro leagues, as of June 2026, volleyball will be on pause as an AU sport.
